Description:
eCPD is a national initiative supporting the effective use of technology in teaching and learning. During the eCPD launch conference, a number of workshops shared the work of leading practitioners. In this workshop, Alistair McNaught discusses an effective way for staff with limited IT skills to create high quality, cost effective and accessible learning materials using the online Xerte tool.

Alyson Jolley, teacher trainer at Stafford College used flip cameras to support a recap exercise on deep and surface learning. Teacher trainees were divided into pairs and allocated a question for them to consider. They were allowed one minute before being invited to write their answers on the PowerPoint slide. Flip cameras were used to record their feedback which was uploaded onto the Moodle VLE for others to critique. PhotoStory was used to capture the PowerPoint annotations.
